Gavi's injury is trending and I see a lot of sports media reporting about it. I know it is a big loss for Gavi and Barcelona, but Barcelona should not be affected by the injury of one of its important midfielders this season. Barcelona will have an equally good line up with Gavi or without him as long as De Jong, Pedri and Gundogan are fine, but if these three players are absent then I believe Barcelona are in trouble.
De Jong reportedly will return soon and will be available for the match against Rayo Vallecano. I'm happy with the news, but I hope Xavi doesn't insist on playing De Jong if he hasn't fully recovered and got a game. Pedri, Ilkay Gundogan and Fermin Lopez can be played as midfielders, but I think Xavi will call up several other midfielders from Barcelona B to cover the lack of players.
Maybe it will affect his football career a little because Gavi had to be sidelined for so long when he got his current injury. For Barcelona this will have a bit of an impact because we can see how when he doesn't play, De Jong and Pedri will be mainstay players for Xavi going forward and they are lucky enough to have another creative midfielder in Gundogan. If not, it is possible that Xavi's squad will have quite a difficult time when they want to make some changes amidst the busy match schedule faced by Barcelona.
Entering De Jong as a starter will provide a much longer chance of injury because if he can play against Rayo Vallecano he will not be completely fit. Xavi must try playing another midfielder first and De Jong can play in the second half as a precaution because Barcelona has a busy schedule next month. Fermin Lopez might be much better than taking a player from Barcelona B because it will be much easier for Xavi to implement the strategy he wants.
