We can't expect people to have such kind of approach in gambling, but for ourself, we can practice that so we won't feel rekt afterwards.
The truth is when you are in front of your games, it is hard to stop, especially when you are losing as you want to recover your losses.
But if you luckily get some winnings, better separate some so you won't feel so bad after you call it a day. At least leave something for your mental stress.
What you are saying is in fact very correct. Although some gamblers have sufficient self-control to withdraw when they won a good amount, other gamblers are having a hard time stopping until their bankroll eventually get depleted. I do not think of this as a gambling addiction but rather the player is just drawn to the game and ends chaising losses after he keeps on chasing wins that make him lose his entire bankroll.
So we better control our greed in order to combat chasing wins that can change to chasing losses and eventually lose our entire bankroll.
