It is true that Girona has performed well this season, but their current existence at the top of the La Liga standings cannot be separated from the inconsistency of Real Madrid and Barcelona, so indirectly Girona has benefited a little because of that.

If you look at Girona's overall performance so far it is quite impressive and they just need to maintain their consistency, in my opinion it is very difficult for a team to maintain its consistency until the end of the season.
And it's not impossible that Girona could make a surprise until the end of this season, I think that would be very interesting if that happened.
Everything will depend on how much depth Rodriguez has in the squad and how ready they are to become a full-fledged support for the main team. Obviously, it will be very difficult to compete with Real and Barcelona in this regard, but I am watching Girona very closely this season, because they have two Ukrainians, Dovbyk and Tsygankov, playing in their lineup. Of course, I would like Girona to be able to resist the giants of the Spanish Championship throughout the entire season, I hope they succeed.
The fact that the other big teams in the Spanish La Liga aren't doing so well as they were expected I think is the main reason Girona should capitalize on their current performances and extend their lead at the top of the table. The beauty of a league is when there's a possibility that it can be won by the unexpected team which has hasn't happened in the La Liga for a very long time. It's been won by either of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atletico Madrid for almost the last 20 years.

Considering their impressive performance in the league  this season, Girona looks like the team that's finally gonna break deadlock and become the first other than the three mentioned clubs to win the Spanish La Liga title even when I think it'll be a very difficult task to achieve. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona currently has major injury concerns which I think will definitely affect the performance of the teams. Girona has shown that they're capable of winning the league but what I don't know is if they can continue with their current form and performance

It is not an exaggeration to say that Girona is the most exciting fairy tale in European football at this time. The inspiration they have brought to Spanish football over the past three months is an extraordinary story. Girona's ability may not allow them to stay at the top of the table for long, but the football they create is worthy of fans to enjoy. The exciting point about Girona is that no player under Michel's guidance can be classified as world-class. They are all people who have not yet achieved and cannot prove their worth. But they created a surprise this season. Everything may be in order when Girona has to clash with Barca, Atletico, and Bilbao shortly. After all, this small team certainly won't be able to compete with Real Madrid or Barcelona.

They are absolutely on fire. As fans, we'd love to see a different season, or at least some intense competition between 3 or 4 clubs. There's nothing more passionate in football than not knowing who's going to win it until the last game. Everything might be in order, and their impressive run could end after their matches against Barca, Atletico, and Bilbao shortly. Girona is like an elephant trying to climb a tree, and we all know it's going to fall down soon. I think they'll run out of steam as their ability might not allow them to keep impressing us for much longer.
