I agree with you. I don't think the Leverkusen team is very strong. Leverkusen is a mediocre team. Yet the way the team has maintained consistency is admirable. And it was possible because of Xabi Alanso. He is an excellent coach. He has been able to create a strong bond between the team players. The players are also confident in every match. That's why we consistently see better performances from Leverkusen in every match. And even with a mediocre squad, the team is still managing to score a lot of goals. They scored 37 goals in 12 matches and won 11 matches. The team shares points with only Bayern Munich. Xabi Alanso has made it even harder for Bayern Munich to dominate the Bundesliga this season.
Pretty much like Liverpool, Liverpool without Klopp is like Tottenham, not strong enough to become a champion, but not really weak to be relegated.
Leverkusen can make a draw against Bayern Munich is already an achievement, it means they're strong enough and not only can beat the weak teams. There's a bright future for Leverkusen in this season, they can do it.
