Re: Please tag my old account (98789)

I think many of the questions asked are answered in the OP. I never mentioned being hacked and I would not sell my account (if I wanted to do so, I would not be asking you to tag it). To the people suggesting waking it up: people here frown upon "password has been changed recently" (and I think there is also a message that shows when an old account suddenly becomes active, I saw it under the user commenting in the second post of this thread and under Vod, for instance), but more important, if I log in to set a message it could be hacked in the future and since I cannot sign messages because all the addresses I used are from Coinbase, I would be screwed and not able to recover it.

As I say above, every address was from Coinbase so signing is not possible. I am not sure if sharing PMs is fine, but the people I have interacted with historically already left. Say, I was in the Betcoin.ag signature campaign, which was handled by roslinpl. I remember I exchanged some PMs with him. But I just found his user and apparently he was hacked at some point. I sold about 1 BTC to xetsr to pay for a TOEFL, I got PayPal from him (so anyone who also traded with him could confirm if I send them a screenshot, though I would not do this since it would mean ~doxxing someone), but xetsr apparently defaulted on a loan a couple of years down the line and his account is now defunct. I worked for SmackThatAce and we communicated a couple of times via Telegram (and probably DMs), he promoted me to manager because I was successful finding bugs at the very beginning and I brought to his attention that some people were reporting repeated bugs, I received BTC from him and paid out the folks who participated in that campaign, I see that he is still active, but who knows if the account was sold in the meanwhile or if he remembers any of the details I mention (which are very general, I myself forgot a lot of what happened then because it was 7+ years ago). I used to write for a Chinese-speaking user (I do not recall his account name) and he once asked me to confirm that someone had stolen some reviews I had written for him, this person used to give me ETH or other currencies to invest in casino bankrolls and then review the investment over a 7-day period, then I would return whatever was left to him, write a review and he would pay me (I think the details of the investments, for instance, were discussed privately, so there is no way I would know this just by looking at 98789's posting history, unless I posted about it and I already forgot).

I offered to tweet, but I understand that X accounts can be hacked or sold and that is likely not a solid proof. IDK if you have any other ideas; I think I could record a video of my Coinbase addreses showing that they are listed there (switching tabs so you know I am not editing the HTML of the page), but that would be a bit too much (and I may accidentally include personal details). I just searched Bitcointalk in my old email and I see I have some PMs there (I think I later disabled notifications to my email because they were annoying, but I have at least a couple), but from a quick look they are with DirectBet (I participated a couple of times in the Tipsters competition), roslinpl and users for which I coded, wrote, translated or signed up under their referral, many of whom were not active in this forum and just came and left. I also see there is a password reset email from when I was active (I forgot my password once), which include my IP back then, but this is not something a regular user will be able to verify and I do not think moderators will be interested in getting involved (if they were, I could simply email some bitcointalk email from the email I used for 98789 and confirm my identity that way).

Ultimately, this thread will stay here so if I reuse any of the addresses or accounts from 98789 (who is me), no one will call me a scammer or a shady user. As I said, I could have simply avoided re-using anything (which would not be hard) and stay in the shadows, and from some responses I think that would have been the "best".

Actually, no it isn't.

The known alts thread is for reporting alts that have been uncovered.

Where the scammers try to counter with FUD is using the myth that it (the thread) is to solely tag scammers.

The irony is you want people to tag your old UID but you don't want to report it to to the very people you are concerned will tag it.

Can you prove the old UID is yours so we're not just tagging someone so you can get off on the grief it would cause?

Well, the post clearly says that newbies and juniors are not welcome to post investigations (I would have simply posted there, I think there was some similar post where people could go and say "X account is my alt", but I could not find it, maybe it was locked a long time ago). Also, the fact of calling it "investigation" means that it is meant to find people using alts and pretending they are different people.

I do not think my old account deserves* red feedback (if it suddenly wakes up, then yes, because it was likely hacked), but I am not afraid of it. If that is what you think should be done, then do it. If you want you can also keep it simple, assume I am a scammer, tag tg9 and I just left again and forget about this forum (I have never had a scam accusation, the closest was someone blackmailing everybody in the Betcoin.ag signature campaign, who later turned out to be a scammer himself).

And, yes, I commented on someone's thread where they say they have a Colombian vanilla card and need help, but I was straight about that I am not asking that person to send me the card information and I have not PMed them or tried to contact them otherwise. This is obvious since I have only posted a couple of times and anyone can see it, but I am mentioning it before someone "investigates" and claims I am trying to scam that user.

In fact, I would like someone that can tag accounts to do it. I could do it myself, but my feedback won't show by default because I am not part of DT. In part, I want to proactively prevent 98789 from being used for scamming in case it is hacked at some point (to the best of my knowledge I have never been hacked on any site, but there is always a first time, and Bitcointalk has been hacked a handful of times so hackers may have some secret info about 98789 already). If I could just delete that account, that would also be fine.

*I mean, back in the day no one wanted to tag lolgato/lolgato1 for scamming someone with an ANN translation and posting a thread offering his "translation services" using that as a portfolio, which was a clear scam and proved by him later scamming much more, so I do not think an account that never scammed a cent from anyone deserves a red, but hey, that would be some good, old Bitcointalk coherency.
