Without a doubt overcoming an addiction alone is almost impossible as it would be too difficult to know where to begin with and h ow to proceed forward, however while the support of your family is key, it is important as well to not forget that if a person receives professional help as well they may recover even faster from their addiction, as those are people that are used to treat others with the very same symptoms and they know very well what you may be going through.
That's true but when it comes to this, our first concern should be to let our loved ones know about it. They will come forward to help us out and they will be the first ones to take us to a professional. When it comes to us, personally we don't want to agree to our own terms that we are an addict. We will most likely try to reason with ourselves that the situation is not that bad yet and we can seek professional help later.
Just saying, if the situation is bad and you know it well, don't waste your time thinking. Let people around you know about the situation and they will come forward to help you. They will be the first step to seek professional help.
