Yes, it's like a plastic film... It's not very visible in my pictures but it can be seen better in the picture posted above by MoparMiningLLC:
If the glue is too strong I'd use a hairdryer or heatgun to gently melt the glue and remove it. It should work, but don't use it on very high heat or too close as you run the risk of burning the plastic instead.
That seems like a good suggestion and I thank you for it, but I'd rather wait for MixTum's or cygan's input on this, as I'd really not want to damage the card
