I have a question though (please don't take it as criticism, as it's not criticism, but merely curiosity): isn't it possible that the lamination to fully-cover the card? As I shown in that picure from above, there is like 1mm distance between that film covering it and the margins of the card. This was also what made me think that the respective film should be removed Isn't it possible to have it covering the card entirely?
