Currently these two teams are the most consistent and strongest in the Bundesliga and it is possible that Bayern Munich will experience a difficult season this season in defending their Bundesliga title.
I think it's possible that these two teams are still equal in the fight for the Bundesliga title, it's just that both teams have to be able to maintain their consistency and we don't know which team will be able to do it.
And I'm sure many people want Leverkusen to break Bayern Munich's dominance in the Bundesliga title race so that in the future the Bundesliga can be more competitive.
If Bayer Leverkusen remains consistent until the middle of the season then this season's Bundesliga will be just as interesting as last season where we have to wait until the end of the season to see who will win, and the team that wins will be the most consistent so the key is consistency.
Bayer Leverkusen will probably start to have difficulties when they start to enter the knockout stages in the European league and when one of their players suffers an injury it will ruin their struggle so far, especially if the reserve players are not as good as the main players, and Bayern Munich will maximize this opportunity to shift Bayer Leverkusen positions,, so the events of last season happened again and the winners were again Bayern, although I predicted that more people will hope that a different team will win the Bundesliga title this season.
To maintain tight competition, Leverkusen must be able to maintain their consistency, but is that enough? obviously not, because there must be efforts they make, one of which makes the composition of players and the depth of their squad stronger during the transfer market later. It is an opportunity that they must take advantage of to be able to maintain squad depth in order to create consistency.
Moreover, the longer the competition, the greater the risk of players getting injured, and injury is one of the factors where the strength of a team decreases. That is what Xabi Alonso must think about and anticipate to make the squad he has can fight until the end of the season.

@pusaka if Leverkusen want to stay in the title race then they will need to dip in the January transfer window and buy one or two more player’s to further strengthen their squad. However if they decide against buying then Bayern will have a clear advantage because their squad is really strong and I don’t think that Leverkusen can stretch the title race till the very end with their current squad.

Leverkusen is getting closer to the title race, and a wise summer recruitment drive has set them up for success till the very end. It's not just about being motivated for the top position for Leverkusen. Xabi Alonso must also stick to a long-term plan to be more efficient and consistent. This not only gives them a real shot at being title contenders but also helps them be more consistent in the Bundesliga. If Xabi Alonso doesn't make the perfect use of the summer transfer, people will end up criticizing him.
