That is the fundamental difference between the two teams challenging for the Bundesliga title this season, Bayern Munchen and Bayer Laverkusen. Tuchel has an even squad depth, has rotation options, and has budget support to move actively in the transfer window, these are the differences that can be seen at a glance and can be read easily. Meanwhile, Xabi only has some of what Tuchel had with Laverkusen, but the mentality and fighting spirit they have developed has made them appear consistent throughout the 12 weeks. Xabi must think harder in arranging strategy, approach and player rotation management, in order to minimize unexpected injuries.
Apart from that, the ups and downs of performance are largely determined by injury factors, especially if the injury is long and there are more than one or two people. Of course it will be very difficult for any coach to maximize the team performance. I think if Bayern loses Kane temporarily, Tuchel will also have a headache. On the other hand, I think everyone has a favorite club, expecting Laverkusen to become champions in the Bundesliga is not a problem, and that is good for the continuity of the Bundesliga itself.
The both teams currently on each other's tail for the Bundesliga trophy never ceases to amaze me. How well and good Alonso has been able to build a team that's been dejected for quite a well and then this season has this burning quest to lead the league. In comparison, it's very much safe to say that Tuchel is way experienced than Alonso but that doesn't matter as both the more experienced and less experienced learns a few things from each other.
The two teams are just there, the final decisions will get heated up later on in the season, but for now, maybe they have to reminisce on all their experiences and struggles through to be where they are now. Especially Leverkusen, kudos for still keeping that lamp burning. Can Alonso's strategy be able to supercede Tuchel's intellect? As it stands, both men are in their own way of managing their teams uniquely.
Implementing and inventing new techniques to withhold and counter back the pressure from the opposing side. It's definitely amazing to watch these two teams play and I'll really love to be fed in on every development from their ends.
