You're right. Leverkusen played very well today but they are unlucky, they just scored 1 goal and got a draw. They were very dominant, they won the ball possessions 69% and made 23 total shots. It is something impressive, it is like Barcelona or Man City playing in their best form. However, Leverkusen players need to improve their quality in attacking, specifically for shoot accuracy.
Dortmund is lucky to score 1 goal quickly. If they didn't score quickly in this match, I'm sure they will have no chance to score goal. In the early match, Leverkusen seems still not playing aggressively.
Leverkusen played well in the early minutes of the match and they were even able to dominate the match quite dominantly. The quick goal scored by Ryerson made the intensity of the game more exciting and Leverkusen tried to put pressure on the Dortmund defense area in the first half, but a number of opportunities were still not converted into goals. It was only in the second half that Leverkusen were able to equalize through Boniface so that the match became even more pressing, but unfortunately there were many opportunities which in the end were not successfully exploited by the Leverkusen players including shooting accuracy.
Dortmund's performance in this match was quite different from when they faced AC Milan and I don't see Dortmund as title contenders in this match because they had quite a hard time keeping up with Leverkusen's match which was quite solid. In fact, if you look at the match against AC Milan, Dortmund's performance was really good and quite neat in playing the ball foot to foot.
