The way Leverkusen are playing is really impressive. Today against Dortmund their performance was again really good. There was a dominant game by Leverkusen but they weren't on their good day on one hand. Because despite trying really hard they still couldn't score more than one goal. Even that equalizer came quite late in the game.
I mean Dortmund could have even won here without showing a decent performance. Because I can't say that they were good at all today. But it is normal to see that because of Leverkusen's great system. Especially in away games your job is much more difficult against them.
I've watch the highlights, both team missed on good scoring chances but they will make up in their last match. Bayer Leverkusen coach, Xabi Alonso time for losing haven't come yet, we will all be surprise when an average team will hand over Bayer Leverkusen first defeats of the season. Borrusia Dortmund was defensive all through the game because it's not an easy run for Dortmund to record a winning against the undefeated Bayer Leverkusen this season. However they still remain unbeaten and paving way for the appropriate paths of securing good winnings.
Looking at the statistics of the match, I think it was a match where Borussia Dortmund should be happy with the 1 point they got. They had a very tough match and Bayer Leverkusen wore them out a lot. They are unlucky not to beat because they created a lot of chances. At least they were not defeated, so we have to think like that. Bayern will be the happiest with this loss.
They should just be happy with that 1 point, they didn't have the possession and they also played with the club that has a very good feat at the moment. Bayer Leverkusen is the reigning champion in their league and the 1 point from Dortmund has also reduced the number of points they were supposed to be leading their closest rival which is Bayern on the table. If you look at the last 7 matches of Dortmund, you would realize that they were playing rubbish, so if they kept playing rubbish and could still manage to go home with a goal, it means that they are still lucky. But I will not entirely exonerate Leverkusen, they also missed opportunities, they had too many chances to win easily, but wasted them.
Thanks to the good defence of Dortmund as well, if not, they would have conceded more goals, regardless, Leverkusen needs to work on their firepower. Also, I noticed that Dortmund was more defensive after the first go in the first half, which could have caused them not to launch more attacks as they should have. A defensive game is a costlier game where you become fearful and the opponent will be a terror throughout, which was what happened, and still, Leverkusen scored 1 goal, what's the point?
