Bayern Munich has dominated and won the German Bundesliga title for over the last one decade and are also serious contenders to retain the title once again but Bayer Leverkusen has proved to be a worthy rival to end the dominance of the German Bundesliga champions this season even when it seems too difficult. Many football fans across the globe are backing Bayer Leverkusen to go on and end Bayern Munich's dominance because of how boring they've made the German League look like for the past eleven years.
On Saturday, Bayern Munich's game against Union Berlin was postponed as a result of extreme level of snow that fell at Munich and I expected the league leaders Bayer Leverkusen to win the game against Borussia Dortmund yesterday and extend their lead at the top of the league but Dortmund gave their best in the game and were almost rewarded with a win before Leverkusen scored late in the game to share points with their visitors. There's still more to play in the German Bundesliga this season but I'm still optimistic that Bayern Munich will win the league title at the end of the season.
Many people confidence in Bayern Munchen ability to defend and reclaim the Bundesliga trophy this season is understandable, Tuchel has everything around him. From a certain point of view, Leverkusen is just a small rock for Tuchel squad, especially when considering Bayern 11 seasons of dominance. Even Dortmund, which is known for producing young players, has always failed to stop Bayern and snatch the trophy from their hands. In fact, 17 Bundesliga clubs had difficulty becoming a stumbling block for Bayern in the previous season, this season as we saw how Dortmund were badly beaten in front of their own supporters in the 10th week.
Leverkusen and Leipzig are the two clubs that have made Bayern lose four points so far, but Xabi Alonso squad looks a little cool because they did it at the Allianz Arena. Few clubs can escape defeat when they travel there, and Xabi was able to take home a point yesterday. Leverkusen is still in first place in the standings, because Bayern match against Union Berlin had to be postponed due to bad weather. As title contenders, Leverkusen under Xabi has received a lot of attention with their unbeaten record. If they fail to win the title at the end of the season, at least we will see Laverkusen successfully swapping roles with Dortmund in suppressing Bayern dominance this season, which will be enough to ward off boredom in the Bundesliga.
