A great deal of the problems gamblers face have to do with their inability to decide what kind of gambler they want to be, they want to gamble for fun or they want to become a pro? If they just want to gamble for fun then they need to give up on the idea of gambling for money completely, and simply enjoy their journey, however if they really want to try to become professional gamblers then they really need to research their game of choice and improve their skills over a period of time and forget about getting fun from gambling, as in that case gambling will be just like any other job, and very few people actually enjoy their job that much.
I agree with you completely but the problem here is that, most persons want to gamble like it's for fun and make money, they do not want to break their back researching and placing informed bets which has edge for wins, they just want to be random with their picks and still win.
People who gamble for fun are the ones who do random picks and hope it turns out a win but if you must have this edge that places you ahead most times in gambling the you must find your edge through this research on theses games and picks so you place bets with a good percentage of accuracy, that way you can be sure to make money gambling, if you want it paying you like a job the treat it as such.
In this case, if anyone is gambling for fun, I see no reason why the person should be seen as irresponsible, after all, he knows his mission in the gambling house, so let him have the fun. But the reverse is the case most times, you might believe that having fun in gambling is the reason why many lose control but it's not, it is simply because they are either incompetent about gambling by not knowing the rudiments of it or they are just reckless and want to gamble for whatever purpose of concern, and they lose control.
Some are solely desperate to gamble and make money through it, but they lose control and got to lose more money until they have nothing left to play with. Also, if it's about fun as you guys claimed, I don't think that someone would want to make fun without having the budgeted amount for it. Why is it in many cases that the money available for gambling will not be enough and the gambler reaches out for extra money? I think that people who primarily gamble are not doing that for fun, except for a few and the few always use the money that will not harm them for it should in case they lose it to their betting activities. This is unlike how most gamblers are doing it.
