Right now, I see this as an opportunity for Barcelona. I see this as Barcelona having a good opportunity to decrease the difference of points between them and Girona.
Yes, Barcelona will obviously not be able to get four points from one match.
Reducing the gap from four points to one point is better than can not do it and still have four points less than Girona after the match or have a bigger difference like 7 points if Barcelona lose the match.
But if they can win, they will get one step closer to being in the second position of the table. And right now that is the main target of Barcelona. somehow, Real Madrid also ends up losing in the next match, or some will have only one point difference with both of them. So that will make things easier for Barcelona. But first Barcelona will have to concentrate on their own performance and win the match against Girona. I honestly do not think they will be able to win against Girona easily. I don't know if Barcelona will actually be able to win or not. Considering the fact that they are performing really well in this season, Barcelona will find it really hard to beat them.
Moreover they will be able to continue their race with Real Madrid by beating Girona and if luckily, if Real Madrid lose points, Barcelona can reduce their point differences against both Girona and Real Madrid.
The season is long but if Barcelona can do it after the match against Girona, they will have a big booster before Christmas and New year holidays before the season returns in January 2024. They will have some time from holidays to buy time for their injured players to recover, back to training and be ready for rest of the season.
Beating Girona looks to be challenging for Barcelona as Girona so far have shown that they are strong in mentality and really ready to make a history for their club in this season.
