Yes, there could be some gamblers who are losing huge amount of money and might not be a gambling addict. However, as a human nature, you wanted to get back with the money that you lost, so you want to play again and again and that could mean that you are turning into addicts.

But I do believed that there are addicts that can turn their life around. Maybe there could be addicts, but sooner or later they could be events in their life that they might realized that gambling is not for them and they are losing every grip of their live. So they could go into rehab, seek medical or professional help, or just shutdown gambling for good.

Chasing losses has always been the problem of many gamblers, and it's likely to lead them  to addiction, but in rare cases though, some just chase until they realize that it's impossible to recover the losses and then they give up and maybe take a break from gambling for a while, while they reflect on their action and the losses they've made. Some people even decide to eventually quite on the process due to the huge amount they've lost trying to gain, they realize at that instant that if the continue with that gambling pattern, they'll only ruin their lives on the process so the best option is to call it a quit.
