I don't understand, have the payout rates decreased? Before it was 0.00012 BTC/post for those with more than 1000 merit, let's round up BTC price at $40k (right now it's almost $44k), that means it used to be $4.8/post; the new $4/post pay rate means 0.0001 BTC/post. Are my calculations correct?
Well, kind of yes, but it depends on the conversion rate of
BTC vs. US-$. In your calculation based on a rate of $40k you indeed get less than before. Atm, we are somewhere around $43k/
BTC, i.e. you only get ~9300 instead of 12000sat per post (Legendary with >1k merits). I know it's even worse for myself. I don't complain about the significant cut, it's something else. Let me explain.
I must say that I find it a somewhat sad deviation from a commitment to pay a constant amount of sats per post to now an amount tied to a constant fiat amount. I don't ignore fiat but I clearly found the commitment to a fixed and constant amount of sats way more appealing. It's more
BTCish...
I assume this wasn't an idea of icopress but rather forced by marketing guys from UniJoin.io? Well, it is what it is and I'm not amused. Such a decission doesn't feel right when I look at the blog posts and articles from UniJoin and the picture of Bitcoin they tried to highlight and emphasize. Enough ranting for today...
