Keep also in mind that on altcointalk there is a "teleport" option so when you create a new account, you can simply sort of transfer your bitcointalk rank so you don't have to start from scratch.
I'm not sure, but I think that I had a profile on that forum a long time ago, as well as on some other forums - but what I'm interested in is the
"teleport" option, that is, how exactly does their admin verify that someone is really the one whose profile want to transfer - anyone can say they are Lucius and give my unique profile number?
