If I were you, I would research more and attempt to provide better quality posts.  Sure no problem including your own experiences (at the same time, do not make them self-indulging), but try to provide some substance and posts that are interesting to others.

In the end, you do what you want, but there are ways to improve the quality of your posts, and none of us should have to hold your hand in terms of your being able to figure it out.. so part of the reason that people send merits is because they can either relate to your post or they get some kind of meaning out of it... and if you provide a bunch of crapy posts, some members are going to get to know you as someone who provides shitty posts, so they won't even be willing to send you merit if you do happen to make a good post now and then..
