Aston Villa is certainly in the conversation for the Premier League race
Beat Arsenal and the champions Manchester City, 15 home wins in a row, 3rd and 2 points off the top. Villa is riding on the crest of a wave at the moment.
But It wasn't a bad game by Arsenal. I think they were a bit intimidated because the coach wasn’t there. Normally they wouldn't let such an easy goal in.
Overall, It was an amazing game. Arsenal at least deserved a goal.
They are a competitive team also and we all know it is not easy for a team like Aston Villa to be in the top 3 in the Premier league so they have put in a good work and the result have proven to us how hard they have worked. Winning Arsenal and Manchester City in a row is really something to talk about, and going just 2 points behind league leaders means they are also among the title contenders this season.
Aston Villa cannot be underestimated anymore but I don’t think they can challenge for the league because they are not so consistent in winning against smaller teams and that could cost them in the long run because consistency is all that matters to challenge for the league.
It is very surprising to see the improvement in performance of Aston Villa in these two matches, being able to beat the premier league giants in a row with the same results and also getting 5 matches that look very consistent.
Previously, I didn't really follow Aston Villa developments and was still curious about what made this club surprisingly able to appear so strong, beating big clubs like MC and Arsenal, or what this meant was the rise of Aston villa who would become the next challenger in the Premier League this season.
I think the Premier League is very interesting this season, it always has a change clubs that will compete competitively to get first place, starting with Tottenham, whose performance currently declining and I will continue to watch the latest news from Aston Villa to find out the cause of the club increasing performance or just stroke of luck.
Aston Villa is the dark horse this season and is ready to kick out the traditional teams that always occupy the top five rankings. Even though Aston Villa managed to get three points from strong teams like Arsenal and Manchester City, they are not strong candidates to win the championship. But there is nothing wrong with Emery being able to maintain the consistency of his squad then the EPL title will be theirs. However, finishing in the top four is very rational for them.
