Aston Villa this season has a squad whose quality is evenly distributed between its core and reserve players. Other advantages are also fortunate when they play against big teams, the team is hit by injuries, such as when Aston Villa beat Man City and most recently Assenal. But the EPL league is still long, half the season is not over yet. There are still Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea, even though they are not in good condition now, but halfway through the season it will be different.
Aston Villa have a rising form but the season is long and with many months ahead, it will be so challenging for Aston Villa to maintain their good form. They don't have too deep player resource that will be their biggest weakness compares to big clubs with deeper resources like Manchester City, Liverpool or Arsenal. They will have to be realistic with their approach for each match and when they already create a good advantage to have three points, they must wisely make substitutions to give their main players some time to rest and avoid exhaustion then injuries.
But I still hope that Aston Villa can continue to be consistent and hopefully Aston Villa will repeat being the king of Europe which has been down for decades and is now starting to wake up again.
From Premier League to Europe, it is big difference and with limited resources, Aston Villa might take a double-edged ambition if they want to achieve good results in both Premier League and Europe. They will have to always adjust their plans and main concern and probably have to give up in one competition to focus better on another one.
