I think what Pochettino needs is a long adaptation time, because the players he has have minimal experience. On the other hand, their transfer policy last summer was quite bad, they let go of ready made players by recruiting young players who needed more time to improve their skills and confidence, which is why Chelsea slumped this season.
I agree with this. I feel Todd puts too much pressure on these coaches and since he needs to see positive results for the money he heavily spent, he expects nothing but perfection. Pochettino shouldn't have offloaded those experienced players in his squad because he'd need them to show these younguns the ropes and I've watched how they play and it shows that they are trying to adapt but can't because they don't really have a background knowledge. I feel Pochettino should borrow a leaf from Pep. Any player the Spaniard signs just adapts and fits to the club like a glove.
There is still time for Chelsea to improve, although we know it is not an easy thing to do in an instant. However, I think with its status as an elite EPL club, the Blues do not deserve to finish in 12th position like last season. Player injuries are not an excuse, and Pochettino should be able to find a solution quickly to get out of the current pressure.
Chelsea are a club with a lot of promise but they should learn to be content with the players they have and if Pochettino can limit making mistakes in areas of tactical changes just so he can meet up, I feel they will succeed. The question is, will Todd Boehly and the fans be patient enough and not ask for his head?
