He might have had another account for a while... he bragged about making 3 BTC on the forum but the math doesn't add up, he would have needed 2-3 accounts to do that 
Maybe, maybe not, but having multiple accounts is not against the rules 
Earning 3 bitcoins in 4 years was not impossible task for high ranked members.
He could earn bitcoin from campaigns, sell it on market top, and buy back again when price drops, that also counts I guess.
I think I remember him saying he was using leverage trading on several exchange.
