The season may look to have more to offer but right now we almost done with the first half of the season and any team at a top position and still but in as much effort in the next half of the season can have a very good turn out at the end of the season.
Well if I were to say who would be in the top six position at the end of the season I would say Arsenal at the first position just because I think they are solid and deserve it and then Manchester city, Liverpool and Aston villa then in six and fifth would be Newcastle and Tottenham.
I have a little doubt about Arsenal's ability to end the season in the top rankings, the English league is not about whether they deserve it or not but rather how consistently they stay in the competition. Last season, no one said that Man City would finish in first place because Arsenal had such a long distance in points, but in the end in the last 10 matches Arsenal were unable to maintain their position so Man City came out as champions.

This season everything has changed where Liverpool has once again become a strong club that has a much greater chance of becoming a champion. I would put Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City as the strongest candidates to fight for the title, but I see Liverpool's chances as being much bigger compared to two other strong challengers.
Sincerely I'm having the same doubts as you too, the consistency to maintain the top spot in the English premier League is not an easy task, let's just watch how well arsenal would go about this their campaign this season, although I give it them haven been this consistent till this time of the season, though Manchester city has have had their fair share of inconsistency this season too, so maybe arsenal could capitalize on that weakness by Manchester city to end at the top ranking of the league.
However I'm not seeing much threat from Liverpool or even Tottenham Hotspur, in any case the league is still open for Many things to still happen.
