Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

I've never really thought about gambling addiction from this angle before, and thinking about it now, i can't help but agree that a big win at some point can be the trigger to addiction. It's not very possible to be addicted to what we've not experienced before, therefore the urge to want to sustain the winnings can lead to addiction. It'll be difficult for a gambler who has not experienced winning before to be addicted, because he hasn't experienced what it feels like to win.

Although a new gambler that has been on a losing streak can continue to gamble in order to recover loses, and the desire can degenerate to addiction. But the possibilities of a new gambler to become addicted can be more if he experiences a big win than when he's experiencing loses.
