Are Cryptocurrencies Under $1 a Good Buy?
Some buyers are attracted to a number of cryptocurrencies under $1. There can be several reasons for this, including the appeal of their unique utility, functionality, technology, or other aspect. For some, the allure of these tokens lies in their affordability, allowing buyers to diversify their portfolios and potentially collect a larger number of tokens.
Like you said, it's not the token price but the marketcap. Yes, some people are attracted to this type of thinking that they get more "full" tokens under $1 or cheaper. But this "full" number is trivial metric about value, and collecting "more" of "full" tokens doesn't make any sense. They might as well should be counting the digits after that one full token. And obviously they don't care about fundamentals or any of that, as they don't understand how even valuation works, why would they understand or care about the tech either. Most likely they would buy it because it was marketed on right shade of their favorite color.
But i've come to accept that markets aren't thinking. they are not acting smart, but in a way that represent worst of us. Greed, herd mentality, easily scared and following others without thinking.
There's a cliche expression when parents talk to their kids about their choices, and kids defence for bad choices is that "everyone else are doing it". Which to parents reply: "if your friends jumped off the cliff, would you do that too?" If markets were personified as one person, that person would totally do any bad decisions based on what others do. This is one of the reasons i am totally baffled by the concept letting the markets decide something being a good thing.
