Real Madrid have a much younger squad this season and they do have players who have above average quality for players their age. Mbappe's presence can of course add depth to the Real Madrid squad because his typical players work hard and have good skills. Mbappe was predicted to be Ronaldo's successor, but there was too much drama surrounding the player, even in the previous transfer market he disappointed Real Madrid fans with his decision to stay at PSG because of the offer of a salary increase to him.

Real Madrid is lacking in the defender position and I agree that they have to look for some young talent and finding a strong defender is much more difficult than looking for a forward. Currently, Real will have many important matches in La Liga and the Champions League and they need several additional players in the upcoming transfer market.
Madrid having young good talents is their main strategy of recruitment. Being the most successful the in the world is a previlege to able to recruit any players the want who also want to play for Real Madrid, and money is not a problem for them. Whenever Madrid put an offer to a player, almost no body say no. Young players often have a hunger to prove themselves, which can contribute positively to the team's dynamics, this is what Madrid want to have from young talents.

Kylian Mbappe's potential addition to Real Madrid could indeed bolster the squad's depth. His presence could upgrade their attacking line which is not the best at the moment. Even though there is drama surrounding Mbappe's decisions in recent transfer markets, I dont see other better option for Mbappe to choose. While he was once predicted to be Cristiano Ronaldo's successor, his decisions to stay at PSG and the associated drama may have left some Real Madrid fans disappointed. Madrid also need to solve the defense issue which so far is covered up by a strong midfield. Finding a quality and young defender can be more challenging than acquiring a forward. But I think Madrid will solve it soon enough.
