Madrid's dominance was evident in this match but they must have struggled when playing with 10 men after Nacho left, fortunately Vasquez, who was given the nod again after his injury, managed to break the deadlock for Madrid.
This is a good thing because if they had only taken 1 point it would have been in Girona's favor but when 3 points are taken then of course the competition will continue. It's also good for my betting because honestly after the red card I had my doubts about Madrid as we all know 11 men can be difficult to deal with when you're down to 10, although Madrid's dominance was still evident but thankfully the 1 goal in extra time got my betting juices flowing again
With this result, Madrid regain the top spot which in recent weeks they and Girona have been very active in changing positions at the top of the table.
