I think this is something that no team wants. Injuries to key players have a very negative impact on the team's performance, especially if it is an elite level competition such as the Champions League. This is the same as the injuries to Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne at City which will cause their performance to decline drastically. Inter have to face Atletico which is of course a difficult match. It will be interesting to see how Inzaghi will strategize to deal with this problem.
The match versus Atletico Madrid will take place in February, reportedly Martinez will be available again in early January. If he recovers quickly, this will be good news for Inzaghi, and all the people who support Inter Milan. Martinez role on the front line deserves appreciation, he is the backbone of Inter Milan goal productivity this season. Of course, his presence in the main squad makes a difference, especially since Atletico Madrid is not an easy team to beat.
The mentality possessed by Inter Milan in their capacity as runners up last season put them slightly ahead, even though they did not qualify as winners of the group and previous round. I think the match between Inter Milan versus Atletico Madrid is worth waiting for, because it brings together teams that have balanced strengths.
