It's very unfortunate that what happened to Aston Villa this week, they could have maximized a bigger opportunity to become leaders of the standings, but unfortunately they failed to win the match against the bottom team. I think the Aston Villa team was very confident and underestimated their opponents so they didn't get maximum results.
This was the perfect time to utilize the opportunity to be top of the league but they failed to utilize it. Arsenal and Liverpool faced themselves and draw the match and if Aston Villa was to have won they would have been at the top. I was so confident in them because of the way they play recently, they always manage to win when they play against top teams but they are not that consistent against smaller teams which is bad for a team that wants to challenge for the trophy. I guess this is the premier league and we are bound to see surprises every now and then.
The draw result in the Liverpool and Arsenal match was very fair, both teams have shown their best performance and indeed these two teams have almost the same strength so sharing the points this week is very fair.
Liverpool was the better team in my opinion, they had more goal scoring chances but failed to utilize it although both teams gave their best and the draw was fair. The game was an interesting one but let’s see which team can be consistent enough to maintain this performance till the end of the season.
