I am not 100% sure but I assume, owners of betting companies don't bet on their own platform because it can be against the interest of other investors and probably their internal company policy might prohibit them from doing this. If it is in a corrupt country where crime is high and rich people want to feel like a gang bosses, then they might bet in their own company to look cool.
