I think now that Girona has fallen behind Real Madrid, they cannot catch up to them. Real Madrid are currently in good form and catching up to them is going to be very tough. They are going to have to beat Real Madrid in their Head to head match in February as well. Girona had that consistency keeping them in first place but that draw probably cost them the Championship of Spain.
There's no need to rush to say it the season is still long 20 matches waiting ahead and we must remember Real Madrid have a busy schedule which may have an impact on their performance in the Spanish League I'm not saying Girona is better than Madrid but sometimes there are moments that can be exploited for example when Madrid competes in the champions league then they can't totally play in La Liga I mean some players will miss the La Liga match and they are prepared for the champions league match. Girona should be able to take advantage of this moment by winning every match.
That is a scenario that we can understand, who knows, there may be other scenarios that we have never thought of before that's why I said there's no need to rush into predictions. I'm sure Girona can give Real Madrid a tough fight in the title race and wait which team is the luckiest, apart from struggle, luck is also needed of course.
