I think now that Girona has fallen behind Real Madrid, they cannot catch up to them. Real Madrid are currently in good form and catching up to them is going to be very tough. They are going to have to beat Real Madrid in their Head to head match in February as well. Girona had that consistency keeping them in first place but that draw probably cost them the Championship of Spain.
I always loved an underdog run. But Real Madrid was too good for them. But if they can keep up the previous consistency and not drop points, they probably can come back. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid's situation aren't that good either, sitting at 3rd and 4th place respectively. I don't see them taking Girona's place. It kinda feels good to see a small team from La Liga actually achieving something this season.
maybe it's too early to speculate about the match in february but it is very clear that Real Madrid is more experienced and has a legacy such as being the leader in La Liga and previously these two teams have competed and Girona lost against Real Madrid and this will happen again in february. on the one hand, Madrid is on its way to bringing in a striker player who can be assured that the striker is very high quality.
with this we can predict how the future match will end without a striker in the past, they could beat Girona and with this striker making Real Madrid more fierce and unable to be beaten by Girona.
maybe Barcelona has been beaten by Girona but Madrid will not let that happen because it is very natural that Barcelona is in financial trouble and players who are not very qualified but getting a top 3 position is very good for Barcelona and maybe this team has to give up if the La Liga title has to be won held by Real Madrid who are more worthy than Girona who are still too early to become leaders.
