Who else is disappointed in Spurs? Not about their standings because it's obvious that they're one from the bottom now but about the recent actions of Wemby's teammates, Vassell, Johnson, and Sochan. This team has no superstar but the moves of these three were too obvious with Wemby. They're not passing him the ball despite his open positions and good plays that can be done. It seems that they cannot see him inside and outside the ring and they won't pass the ball.
Even the commentators have noticed those good plays that can be done with him for being open. I think that this team is seeing the best for their players and Pop should have noticed it already and he has allowed that to happen. There can be so much improvement from these boys but I think what the team needs is to hone Wemby together with this but if not, they have to trade these players that seen to have selfish plays and just get one veteran that's good in assisting and can all of his teammates that are open and to make better plays with them. It's just disappointing that they're like that but it is what it is.
There are some videos online regarding this one.
There are some possessions of the Spurs where Wemby is free at the paint, but they refuse to pass it to him. There are some possessions where he can get the ball when they pass it to him because his defender is way smaller than him, but instead, the ball handler chooses to pass it to the wrong person. I mean what's wrong with them? Is this what Coach Pop is teaching to his team? Is there some kind of jealousy going on with the team because they already know that Wemby will be the face of their team a few years from now?
Whatever happens with the team, I guess let's just not stress ourselves on them because, in the end, Wemby will be the face of the Spurs, and what they need are players who will compliment him. Trade those players who aren't fit for him.
Probably it's part of the play of Pop did planned and told the boys. But with all the visibility and we're not ignorants in basketball although it's different when you're inside the court but it just can't go unnotice when you watch the entire plays during those times. I guess that they're showing who are the ones with tenure on the team and Wemby is still just a kid, a rookie that shouldn't boss around. I mean all of them want to get some wins right? It should be like that and have a winning mentality. Look at the players with this type of mentality, they are the ones staying longer in the league, right?
Spurs urgently need to add any player whose position is point guard to its roster. The point sochan experiment of popovich, who normally doesn't get involved in such ambitious things, has turned into a disappointment and tre jones can't give what is expected. Even if rajon rondo came now, he would put our idle youngsters in order, the situation is that dire. The importance of the point guard can be seen by looking at Houston this year. As soon as fred vanvleet arrived, the team started to get wins. It was a mistake for the spurs not to approach vanvleet more seriously.
I agree, someone who's veteran and can see all of the players who are free and not. A real team player, many fans suggests Ben Simmons that can help the team next season. There are veteran and better point guards there that will show what these young calibers can do. Even the bench players, they'll for sure going to lit the fire when given the opportunity and playing time. How much more if someone can accompany Wemby with a good play maker who's been around and help them around with his experience.
