Nope I disagree with this, the amount of time doesn't really affect it, for me it is the amount that counts.
You could spend less time but play with a higher amount, or you could spend more hours but spend less if you just want to enjoy.
It sounds like a superstition, for me it isn't really the amount of time but the amount of money that you spend which could lead or be the reason why they would call you a gambling addict.
You should be considering both, time and money. There's a reason they say that time is your most precious asset, as it's something you can't buy.
Many people fall into the trap of focusing on money only and end up spending long hours on something that brings them very little profit (if any), not noticing that they're effectively earning peanuts per hour.
If you consider gambling to be entertainment and therefore don't mind spending your time on it, then I guess it's fine (although not necessarily healthy).
