^  But keep in mind that Man City hasn't played their match vs I think Sheffield United as it was postponed.  It's safe to assume that they're going to win the match and that puts them at second place with 43 points.

As for the result of Liverpool vs Newcastle United, it's not surprising.  Newcastle's away form is so terribad that even midtable clubs could win against them any day.  But of course the midtable clubs this season are Man United, Chelsea, Brighton and West Ham.    All decent clubs.
