I think the people are not mistaken when at least they see a chance for Arsenal to win the Premier League trophy this season. I mean why would they not have a chance? Maybe people agree that this is not the biggest chance of their lifetime, but to say that they have no chance would be completely wrong. People started to contemplate whether Aston Villa could potentially have a chance to win the title if they can continue the season like that, but as we have now seen these dreams can blow up within a very short period of time. However, Aston Villa is still at the top with Liverpool.
It's true that ruling out any team's chances entirely might be premature. Arsenal, like any other top team in the league, has a chance to contend for the title. People contemplating Aston Villa's chances only to witness a change in dynamics is a testament to the competitiveness and volatility of the league. The standings can shift rapidly, and teams that may not have been initially considered title contenders can emerge as serious challengers.

The Premier League is known for its competitiveness, and every season brings new narratives and unexpected outcomes. Aston Villa's presence at the top of the table alongside Liverpool further emphasizes the point that early-season form and dreams can evolve or be challenged as the season progresses. Sustained performance and consistency are crucial factors in the title race, because the true contenders will emerge based on their performances.

I fully agree with you and the point is if it was the same every single year, nobody would be watching it with excitement. Some people talk about the dominance of Manchester City over the last few years, but what does dominance even mean? When you look at the competition Manchester City had, it took record after record to win the title in some seasons. Yes, they won it several times, but when you consider what it took them to win the title, holy shit that was well deserved then. In 21/22 it was their 93 points against Liverpool's 92 points. In 18/19 it was their 98 points against Liverpool's 97 points.

When people use the word dominance, it is true when you look at the number of titles in recent years only. But when we consider what effort was required to win the title, then it becomes obvious how crazy competitive this league is. Of course there are more relaxed years with a big gap, but sometimes it takes literally 200% effort to cross the finish line as the winner.
