When you look at the competition Manchester City had, it took record after record to win the title in some seasons. Yes, they won it several times, but when you consider what it took them to win the title, holy shit that was well deserved then. In 21/22 it was their 93 points against Liverpool's 92 points. In 18/19 it was their 98 points against Liverpool's 97 points.
When people use the word dominance, it is true when you look at the number of titles in recent years only. But when we consider what effort was required to win the title, then it becomes obvious how crazy competitive this league is. Of course there are more relaxed years with a big gap, but sometimes it takes literally 200% effort to cross the finish line as the winner.
