They are a good team but last season, currently they are no different from Chelsea or Manchester United who suffered many defeats this season so it doesn't show that they are a good team, and beating PSG in the champions league is impressive but unfortunately their performance continues to decline and has not shown any improvement so far.
Liverpool won with a convincing score and it was very encouraging because they were able to maintain their position at the top of the standings.I don't follow football like I do some other sports. I checked their statistics and it seems you are right. Liverpool is a good team but I was sad for them not to be in the Champions league. This year they have are not going to miss it. They are current league leader in Premier league.
I am not an ardent follower of football as well, but for some reasons, I still find myself looking at the league table for score informations at times

, and honestly speaking of Liverpool, I love how they came from the back and suddenly, they are now occupying the first position in the premiere league table with 45 points, followed by Aston villa who are sitting at 42 points currently, 3 points is a good gab and if Liverpool will continue to perform well, they may likely win the title this season, stealing it away from my club (Arsenal) which seem to be underperforming again like they did last season.
I am a lover of football game and I do follow up some the football leagues especially the English premier league which is my favourite. This season Liverpool is most likely going to win the league title based on their outstanding performance taking advantage of the drawbacks of injuries and drop of form their biggest opponents in the league such as Manchester City, Arsenal are experiencing at the moment. If Liverpool can keep on with this energy till end of February not losing a single game to increase points giving much gap to their opponents in the top four before they could pick up then the league title will in no doubt be theirs to lift.
And speaking of champions league, Liverpool may or might not be there as you said, but then, their performance in premier league is something alot of sports lovers have taken note of.
Last season was a bad one for Liverpool but so far they have been up to their game this season and with how fine they are playing and winning their game's now it is obvious that they have secured a spot in the champions league next season as they will in no wise go below the top four on the table should they fail to win the EPL league eventually.
