Ranking up depends on the effort you made since if you are just posting without having any context then people will ignore your post and possibly cannot get a merit. But if your post is valuable to the extent that it help a lot of people to understand some information or you share something new to the community then provably with that you can earn those lovely merits.
If you accumulate a lot of that then ranking up is really possible. So try to understand how the flow of discussion going and you would provably rank up fast compare to other people.
