More precisely, Xabi Alonso is currently being targeted by many of Europe's top teams because of Xabi Alonso's success in creating or building the Leverkusen team as it is today.
It's true that many clubs currently have him as their preferred candidate, but he doesn't have an exit clause for any clubs other than the ones he played for as a player. He would therefore have to fulfill his contract until 2026 or a high transfer fee would have to be paid for him. It's questionable whether clubs will do that if there are alternatives.
It's no wonder that he is being fought over by many clubs, it's because he can show that he can bring a club to play well. I personally have not heard the future of Xabi Alonso, he also has not said anything about his future, whether he will spend his contract with Leverkusen, or he has a strong desire to leave and look for new chalenges.
But I think he's doing the right thing now, I mean he's just focusing on the job he has to get done, yes at least to be able to bring Leverkusen to the championship this season. If he manages to do that he will certainly get more offers from other clubs and that can make him more free to go to which club.
For now I want to see him finish this season, whether he will be able to become a chmpion or not.
