Manchester City is about to give their player Claudio Echeverri to Girona.
This a good news for Girona since they are racing the top of the La Liga table and they need to have another player in their team to have more potential if they are racing with teams like Real Madrid in the table. Claudio Echeverri is a young player and he needs to get more experienced and that's why maybe moving to another team where he can have more chances to play in the games for that team is a good choice for this player.
Barcelona was also interested in Claudio Echeverri but that's now going to be the destination for Claudio Echeverri as they are giving this player on loan to Girona for six months.
A wise decision from Manchester City and it will also help in strengthening the mentality of a young player. If I'm not mistaken, Manchester City and Girona have the same ownership and maybe this is what makes the transfer to Girona easier. Even though this is only a loan move, it really helps Girona who are trying to win the La Liga title this season and together with Real Madrid they will fight each other for that title.
Claudio Echeverri under Coach Michel will become an even brighter player and when he returns to Manchester City next season he will become a star player under Pep Guardiola. An advantage of getting more playing minutes elsewhere and will be key at Manchester City in the future. Can't wait to see the debut of this young man from Argentina.
Yes, the majority shareholders of Girona are City Football Group and Manchester City's shareholders are also City Football Group. If this news is true, then it is going to be a very good move I believe. Girona are fighting for the championship in La Liga, recently beating Atletico Madrid. He will get used to the fight mentality and high intensity play of Europe. I believe within 6 months or a year, he will get ready for Europe.
But what I don't know is if he has a place in the Manchester City Squad. They have adequate midfielders right now. Look at Kalvin Phillips, sitting at Manchester City and doing nothing. On the other hand, they also have shown interest in buying Joshua Kimminch. So I don't know if there is a place for him in that squad. I know Claudio Echeverri is an attacking midfielder and Phillips and Kimminch are defensive mid, but when you have this much player, I don't think there is a place for him.
