It doesn't look like Sevilla has any hope of surviving in La Liga and they are now increasingly miserable because they sit in a position close to relegation. Several years ago they were a strong team in La Liga but for some reason they fell so deeply recently that they were unable to compete with even weak teams. Sevilla seemed to be running out of time and the previous defeat against Athletic Bilbao also hit them hard.
I would say that even if Sevilla's performance is weak now, this team will qualify for La Liga eventually. Sevilla are still out of the relegation zone. However, Sevilla team is only 1 point ahead of Cadiz who is in the relegation zone. However I would say there is still a long journey ahead. Sevilla will play 19 matches in La Liga. If Sevilla can sort out their problems in these 19 matches, and stabilize the team a bit, they will be able to move up the points table.
Sevilla have won just 3 of 19 matches this season. The main reason for Sevilla's defeat was their poor defence. I think Sevilla's performances will be strong and regular if the defense is a bit stronger.
Personally, I think Sevilla will not be relegated, even though we already know the detailed statistics and reputation of their performance in the first half of the season. If Ramos and colleagues can target points from just average clubs, then they can stay in La Liga next season, in my opinion that is the easiest scenario for Sevilla.
However, we know that it is not an easy thing, because Cadiz, Granada and Almeria also want to escape the relegation zone. The financial factor of the club being in debt is the cause of Sevilla current decline in performance, so they are having difficulty building a squad and even had to be willing to let go of several key players last summer.
I also don't think so. Sevilla are big sides, I watched the game against Atletico Madrid and they played better than they've done in all of the entire season just in that game, with the transfer window open they can make additional players who can help the squad mentally and physically in the remaining half of the season. They don't have to be relegated this way.
For Barcelona last night, good to see they finally won, at least it's a good way to see them start the year with a late winner from Ilkay Gundogan from the spot kick.
Xavi Hernandez has been tagged poor by the fans, he's got to improve honestly, they can't continue winning narrowly.
