The team does not need many star players in the squad for a good performance. We have seen proof of this several times. The Chelsea team won the Champions League title a few years ago. They did not have many star players in their squad. Leverkusen are still unbeaten in the Bundesliga and Europa League this season. This team also has no star players in its squad.
PSG had many star players in their squad, but their coach was not good. There was no friendly relationship between the players in the squad. PSG team cannot do well in Champions League due to lack of friendly relationship between players and lack of understanding between players. But now PSG has an experienced coach like Luis Enrique. Now, if PSG's squad was as strong in attack as before, PSG would have been able to dominate the Champions League.
Of course you need star players and I have no idea what your definition of a star player is. If the only guys who can be called stars are Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe then you are right because they can't be everywhere and two of them play abroad. But of course do these teams need stars to win the Champions League. Some of them might not be as well known as others, but all of them are stars in some capacity.
You are applying some weird logic to be honest. Since PSG never won the Champions League although they had Mbappe, no team that has Mbappe will ever win the Champions League. That is how you construct your arguments. Think about it.
I mean a star player who can consistently perform consistently, and has the ability to score at key moments and bring the team to victory. There are very few such players. But PSG was very lucky to have three of the best players in the world in Messi, Neymar and Mbappe in their squad. But they cannot use these three players properly. This is why the PSG team does not get a chance to touch the Champions League title.
You probably didn't read my comment properly or you didn't understand that. I don't blame Mbappe at all for PSG not winning the Champions League despite having Mbappe. The bonding between PSG's players was not good and that's why they couldn't dominate the Champions League, that's what I mean. If the understanding between the players is not good, even if you bring all the best players in the world in the same squad, the expected results will not be obtained from them. This is what I believe.
No you didn't Mbappe blame at all, but the logic you applied in your first post would be the same what I posted about Mbappe. No players in the world will guarantee you the Champions League trophy. If one club had bought Ronaldo, Messi and Mbappe, do you think that they would have won the Champions League five years in a row guaranteed? No, probably not. But this doesn't mean that star players are not needed. First of all, star player is a vague term without definition, at least as you used it. Secondly, no team regardless of how it is composed will win the trophy guaranteed.
