I would say that it is not really all that same, I feel like they might be even better right now compared to last two seasons and when I say that many people think that I am joking but that's really the reality without a joke. Because Messi was already at a certain age when he get there, he was still a great player but he wasn't the Messi that can took a team from nothing to UCL, plus he wasn't playing in his own system, that dude played 20 years at Barcelona, PSG was a new team to him, between his age and new team I think he wasn't at 100% anymore.
Neymar was even worse situation because we are talking about a situation where he was just keep getting injured, just like he is injured now as well. So those all matter, sure on paper it looked great, but the reality wasn't like that.
I would like to say the same thing, but I don't think many people want to hear it and tend to make fun of it. Messi, Neymar and Mbappe are great strikers, it is recorded in their history and statistics. However, whether PSG is successful or not in the Champions League is not just because of these three, meaning that every player who has the opportunity to play in that season must be the reason why PSG is good.
PSG has problems, especially the coach and the depth of the squad. They have problems in defense and midfield, even if they have big-name strikers. The coach is also the reason why they tend to lose technically, so success is not solely due to the players but also due to the coach's ability to analyze the team's problems and needs. Unfortunately, Messi and Neymar have left while they have Luis Enrique as coach. But Enrique will create his own story this season with PSG even without Messi and Neymar again.
