This is football and things can change very fast. The point difference is not much between Bayern Leverkusen and Bayern Munich. Bayern Leverkusen has lost Bofiface to the Nigerian national team for the Afcon tournament and if they are not prepared go cover for his absent it might really affect them since he has been scoring lots of goals for them. I just hope his absence won't cost them the too spot in the league table.
The point gap between Leverkusen and Bayern Munich isn't a news again about how narrow it currently is so definitely even Leverkusen is very much aware of the risk ahead if they are not able to secure some good wins to further broaden the point difference between both teams in the Bundesliga this season.
There's one thing I really observed about the Leverkusen team this year, they are not dependent on any particular player for their success so it's more like the presence of any player will only be an added advantage but then it will never be that the absence of a player will cost them an entire match probably. Leverkusen loosing one of their players to the AFCON wouldn't be much of a challenge even though he has been a great contributors to the numbers of goals they get in a match, but then I don't want to believe Leverkusen will loose their form due to the absence of these players.
That true, I also believe Leverkusen will not lose its balance and consistency in collecting points, even though several important players temporarily abandoned it. playing as a team and they are very solid, that is the key to Leverkusen success so far, Xabi must have prepared a number of rotation options by utilizing the available players.
Not only Leverkusen sent players to strengthen their respective national teams, Bayern Munchen, Who are their most serious competitors in the Bundesliga, also sent players such as Min Jae and Noussair Mazraoui. so I think this is a challenge that must be found for a solution, but it does not require the two managers to look for additional new players this january.
I think for the next few matches the two Bundesliga title challengers will appear stable, maybe Xabi pace will be a little heavy when facing Leipzig in week 18, While Bayern will be fine in my opinion.
