Xabi has the freshness on his side that gives him a better perspective into the world of football, he was a player way more recently than Tuchel has ever been and Xabi played in bigger situations so learned more high level stuff there as well. Tuchel has the wisdom and experience on his side, he has managed a lot bigger clubs and have seen a lot more success on his managerial situations as well.
So, when you combine those two together, you do get a great manager, but when they are facing each other, I believe both have their advantages and disadvantages. I believe that we are not going to end up with anything that would get better, it should not be all that confusing, it should be quite the normal situation and do better in time.
I Will say that I trust Xabi Alonso more than any other coach in the Bundesliga right now. And that is something a lot of other people will also say in my opinion. Because even in a short period of time, he has been able to prove that he is not just another coach, he is actually far above average and he has the tactics to make things work. He also has an idea of how to make the best out of all the players that he has in the squad. The team that he has right now is definitely not world class. But he is making it work. And for that, he should get all the credit that he is getting right now. And that inherently gives him an advantage, even if it is just a psychological one.
