This season, Bayer Leverkusen took the place of Dortmund last year and they are even better right now. I think they could claim the first place until they will face Bayern Munich and at that time we will have a better look about the winner this season. The Bundesliga is really interesting now as the matchday progresses we are seeing that even though Bayern Munich is still the favorite to win even my self I really get some interest in Bayer Leverkusen and how they are doing it, seemingly making Bayern Munich a laughing stock right now, but even though Bayern Munich is not far behind the position 4 points are seemingly impossible because Bayer Leverkusen still doesn't have any losses despite having some Draws it is still better to have Draws than Losses on this situation because right now Bayern Munich now has 1 lost so it is not looking really good for Bayern Munich,
But as you said Victor Boniface has a pretty severe injury and might be out for about 6 weeks or longer. This is what I waited for, but not in the sense that I wanted it to happen to the player and Bayer Leverkusen. It was more like something I knew would happen to at least some of the players. I don't know if this is just a feeling, but it comes across as if these journeys with the national team frequently lead to the clubs suffering from injuries of the players. Maybe it is really just because I am programmed like that by now and I think more players get injured there, but this Boniface incident was in my head before it even happened. This is really bad now for Leverkusen.
Victor Boniface is popping out because of the performance of Leverkusen but the team's success was not because of 1 player alone they are a team and it is just a coincidence that Boniface had the same goal in his record for the team this season and he is number 4th for the most goals in the Bundesliga this season, having 10 goals right now but for sure the Leverkusen will surely adjust to this now that he is injured,
Xabi Alonso is the frontrunner for Leverkusen and they wouldn't handle top actions without his presence in the club. Bayern Munich are behind Bayer Leverkusen but it doesn't mean they're not able to stack up winning points closer to Leverkusen on the league table. I don't know how Bayern Munich will do it but they always managed a way to pull strings whenever it comes to Bundesliga matches. Watching Bayer Leverkusen topping the table for this long time, I think they also have 50/50 chances as Bayern Munich, it's not an isolated fight for Munich alone, rather its a tough fight for Leverkusen also.
For sure it was just dumb luck last season as they went toe to toe with Dortmund and if they hadn't made a Draw points with the Dortmund team because they had fewer losses than Dortmund they have won the championship for sure if Dortmund won that game then we will be having a new champion last season but the domination of Leverkusen is really amazing and it is really weird to say that they will not likely do something crazy by making mistakes right now, because if they do Bayern Munich is there to take their place,
