I hope this will not have a big effect on them. Because if they actually go behind Bayern Munich, it is going to be really hard for them to recover. And again the chance for them or any other game to actually beat Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title is going to disappear. I definitely do not want that. But I also understand that injury is the probably only thing that it was going to make Bayern Munich get ahead of Leverkusen in this season. And maybe that is going to happen now with this injury. Let's hope that Xabi Alonso actually has some plan in place.
The absence of victor Boniface is definitely going to affect Leverkusen a great deal because he's a key player and his performance has been such that has really been impactful for the team and his absence now will actually mean a lot because not only will he be absent in the AFCON but he may aswell be absent from Leverkusen for awhile.
There's still a little time as the transfer windows are still open and Leverkusen can see how well they could utilize it to make up for the space that will be created by Boniface absence, although Leverkusen has always played like a team that has almost no dependency on any player but then he was a key player and definitely Bayern Munich may want to utilize this opportunity to reclaiming their dominance but I hope Leverkusen will be able to fight hard enough to create history in the bundesliga
