Copenhagen pulled out a great performance in Group A of the UEFA Champions League to reach the last 16 when people were expecting Manchester United to qualify with Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Even though the match between Copenhagen and Manchester City is not played, we all know that Manchester City is through to the quarter-final.
I also think Copenhagen did a really great work despite being the least favoured team in Group A. They played really fearlessly against all of their stronger opponents on paper. I say on paper because for example Manchester United showed a really poor performance and to be honest that performance deserved the last position. Copenhagen and Galatasaray were much more of a fighter compared to Manchester United.Anyway when we come back to the main topic Copenhagen's job is going to be very difficult in this phase of the Champions League. Because they are about to face the biggest title favourite which is Manchester City.
This is most probably the end of the road for Copenhagen as a result.Manchester City are clear favorites for the match against Copenhagen in the last 16 of the Champions League. I think everyone would admit that considering the depth of the squad as well as the experience of both teams. Pep Guardiola knows that his team are favorites against Copenhagen, but there is no reason to underestimate Copenhagen after they really made Manchester United suffer in the group stage.
You are right, Copenhagen will only have a journey in the Champions League until the round of 16, that is the big possibility. But who knows, any team still has their own chance of qualifying from one phase to the next, including Copenhagen. I back Manchester City to get to the final, but never underestimate Copenhagen who are trying to do something great.
