Yeah, I’m not sure why they have decided to bring Werner in. I guess it’s on loan so essentially risk free.

Son is at the Asian Cup too so they will need somebody to step up in his absence. I am doubtful Werner will come close to replicating the influence Son has.
In Werner's video interview on the Tottenham YouTube channel, Werner is very optimistic about returning to the Premier League with Spurs, who is said to be a big club. He believes in this team with the greatness that Tottenham has, including the stadium problem.
Werner at RB Leipzig has not played much this season. Only 8 games and two starts.
I doubt Werner can emulate Son's influence at Spurs. Maybe Werner can prove it on loan, as he said in an interview, so that the Tottenham public will fall in love with him.

Complete imitation may not and will never happen, but Werner is trying to perform even better even if only as a player on loan. Timo Werner officially joined Tottenham Hotspur on January 9 2024 and will return to RB Leipzig on June 30 2024. Tottenham Hotspur coach, Ange Postecoglou, is a long-time admirer of the former Chelsea player. Tottenham Hotspur immediately borrowed Timo Werner considering that Manchester United also wanted him.
